We have been learning about Alexander Graham Bell.  This morning the children have been using a variety of sources to find further research.  They have used the internet, books and fact files.  The children will be writing their own biographies about him on Wednesday using the skills we have been learning this term.  Some children asked if they can do their own research at home.  This is fine and I will ensure that it is included in their English books.

Well done to the children who made puppets at lunch time club.  I asked them if they could create a show with them to perform for the rest of the class.. They went away and made props and different settings for their show and put on a brilliant performance for the rest of the class.  The other children commented on how good it was.  The children asked at the end if anyone else had any ideas that they wanted to share so feel free to get involved.

With our topic of Electricity and Inventors, the homework this half term is for the children to invent something electrical.  In their homework logs I would like them to show their ideas and planning.  If possible I would then like them to make their invention.  We will then hold a ‘Dragon’s Den’ session where they can promote their invention.  Mrs Wood has already volunteered to be one of the dragons and can’t wait to see their creations.  We will then complete a piece of persuasive writing in the classroom, writing an advert to sell their invention.  If it isn’t possible to make I am still excited to see their concept.
