Miss Lister’s Class

Thursday 21st March

This afternoon we have had all 11 of our chicks out to play. We explored how all the chicks were different colours and different sizes. We carefully stroked them using our kind hands. We have 1 egg left inside the incubator.

The boys and girls in Early Years have been busy reading stories and singing songs to the chicks.

Wednesday 20th March

Mrs Whittington came in to see us and brought the brooder into school. We moved the eggs from the incubator into the brooder so they could have more room to move aroun. Mrs Whittington brought in different types of eggs. We looked at a goose egg, duck egg and a chicken egg. The goose was the biggest egg and had a white shell.

Wednesday 20th March

We have had a fantastic morning! We have explored the inside of the shell and talked about how the chicks got out of the shell.

At 10:05am we watched the 5th baby chick hatch! 🐣

Wednesday 20th March

Overnight, four baby chicks hatched. 🐣🐣

Monday 18th March

Mrs Whittington has very kindly dropped off her incubator and 13 eggs. The hens who live on her farm have been very busy laying eggs.b🐣🐤

As a class, we have made some rules for the eggs.

– Do not touch the incubator.

– Do not hit the incubator with the magnifying glass.

– Use your quiet voice when near the incubator.

We are very excited and are waiting patiently for the eggs to crack! Watch this space!

Thursday 14th March

Happy World Book Day!

In Early Years, we dressed up as our favourite book characters. We read lots of different stories and had a fabulous day!

Thursday 7th March

Nursery and Reception had a fantastic time at Lindley Book shop. We sat like superstars and listened to the story “Oi Frog”. All children chose a book to take home to share with their grown ups.

Tuesday 5th March

We have been reading Mr Wolf’s Pancakes in Nursery and Reception. We worked together and looked at the different ingredients. To make pancakes, you will need:

– Flour

– Milk

– Eggs

We mixed the ingredients together and Mrs Manning cooked the pancakes. We then decided what topping we wanted. They were very yummy!

Tuesday 25th September

In Nursery, we have started to brush our teeth everyday after dinner. We have talked about why we brush our teeth and how it is very important to brush our teeth in the morning and at a bedtime.

Welcome to EYFS! This week we started our daily phonics sessions. So far we have learnt the sounds m, a and s. We have been very busy learning the RWI rhyme for each sound and are superstars at forming the letters correctly. Watch out for our fabulous work!
